I'm lucky that Wordpress is quite well supported on IIS, and it didn't take me long to get my blog ported over to WS08R2. That said, i didn't do this for any specific business reason (it's my private blog, after all), i just thought the experience with IIS could be valuable. And i had an NFR version of WS08R2 Web Edition from a Microsoft conference, so that seemed like a good fit. Linux software RAID is much nicer than Windows, but 8 year old IDE controllers don't react that nicely to broken disk drives. I've had better experiences with Linux SW RAID on newer AHCI SATA controllers from Intel - even hotplug worked. Hi Jack,

When our linux raid died our hosting company told us the second disk hadn't been updated for 2 months and they didn't notice. Fortunately the back up tapes worked otherwise we'd have been in trouble. I'm hearing good things about the latest version of IIS. How does it stack up against Apache which we're currently using. That was fortunate Lukas.
