Hi Tim,

DFS-R Replicated folders are backed up using a specialized shadow copy writer. When restoring/saving, you'll find them under the Shadow Copy writer section, not the ordinary file section.

Hi Lukas - We just implemented DFSR onto Windows 2008 servers in our enterprise and I'm configuring BE 12.5. I haven't met anyone else using Win2008/BE 12.5 so far. I can't back up my replicated volumes, do you know of any 'gotchas'? Folder I'm backing up contains replicated data from my file servers. If I back up a nonreplicated folder, works fine. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Tim

Hi Jason,

Hyper-V and Virtual Server 2005 operate in different leagues. The performance on Hyper-V is much improved. I do not have production Exchange servers virtualized yet (and i'm currently not planning to do so). But i run several important services like SCOM and SQL Server on Hyper-V, performance is good and i haven't had any problems so far. I've always followed the whitepapers diligently, though.

Regards,

Lukas

Hello Lukas, we have been looking into it WS08 as we are completely thin client and use Virtual Server 2005 but have yet to take the plunge. I am looking forward to seeing TS Gateway in action, as well as the improvements in RDP. Have you noticed much difference with Hyper-V? I know it supports 64-bit apps so it would be useful to see how well Exchange 2007 operates in that environment.

Hi Alex,

Didn't write much about SBS08 yet, as i don't have one in production yet. I'm not sure if DFS-R is supported on it, i'll have to look that up.

OWA 07 is great for sure.

Do I read correctly ... DFS-R supported on SBS 2008 ???
This was not true in SBS 2003R2.
For the rest outstanding product ... running it in prod since RTM. TSA is the think for sure, but not only... Exchange 2007 sp1 + ForeFront are major upgrade versus Exch03 + IMF. OWA 07 vs OWA 03 is also a radical change, the only limitation of OWA07 versus MS Outlook 07 is that you cannot open 2 agendas simultaneously. Do I also need to mention WSS 3.0 running as companyweb with full index ?
