WTF is product 5733-905 - “Server Firmware”?
We received a new Modell 515 for a customer today, and there’s a strange licensed program installed that i haven’t seen before.
See the screenshot to the right for an example. I haven’t seen this before, and Google doesn’t have any meaningful results, nor does the new i5/OS Infocenter.
Does anyone know more?
Update: The machine is running LIC V5R4M5 (i wonder why, though - previously shipped 515 did run at V5R4M0). This might be an upcoming V6R1M0 feature for improved OS management of machine firmware.

Dear Lukas,
it is funny, we had the same situation when doing a hardware update from a 520 to a new 525 system at Westaflex. Before we started the migration we come from V5R3M2 to reach at V5R4M5.
When doing the cumPTFs we additionally had some directories which the systems defined as necessary and did a copy of the files. Example: /….ProdData/…/CIM/Schema/Additional27_BIOS from the same file before named without the 27 in his name.
In the german SLIC version there is no description of what 5733-905 stands for….., so we felt great to have your comment to deal with this programm.
But we also opened a call at IBM Stuttgart with the result: In the new release V5R4M5 there is some code for V6 already included. The SLIC programms will become part of the BIOS and you will only be able to manage it with the so called HMC console – a UNIX PC.
Keep in mind, that – at the moment – there is no trouble with this message, but IBM plans to asks the customer when ordering a set of PTFs also the modell type of i-system. This part is unique and not included with usual PTF collections.
We will now finalise our migration this sunday and hope that you will be sucessful as well.
