I opened up my PC yesterday to install come new USB ports and found my Northbridge cooler hanging. I have not noticed any problems, but obviously now that I am aware, I am concerned. Presumably if any sort of overheating had occurred, I would have started seeing problems, no? Is the cooler reseatable? Any advice would be gratefully received ...

I have had this happen on a lot of Acer Workstations (Veriton 7600G and similar)... The little hook did not fall into the ram module slots, but the northbridge heatsink on those workstations have the the same fastening method.
