Hi Rochester,
client refers to the closed PMR 33480,212,848 (archive). In the PMR
client problem is described as followed:
Client trying to create a color AFP overlay, which he can print to any
IPDS-enabled color printer which supports FS45. The problem is that the
colors in the AFP file client gets are already wrong, before client even
upload the file to his iSeries. The colors in the afp viewer are wrong.
And the colors are used from the afp viewer by the print output.
Client will know if a fix is available according to the last update from
rochester from PMR 33480,212,848 (At this time, we have identified
Infoprint Designer as being capable of generating proper colors. Other
than that, an update to the AFP driver could be available by second
quarter 2007).

The AFP driver developer states that the latest version of the driver
does not have any color improvements. If the customer wanted to send us
a sample input file that they are printing through the driver, we could
check the latest driver to see if it is any better or not.

I cannot get to the jpg links. What is an .eps file? Googling shows
"encapsulated postscript"? When I try to open it with any PC
application I have, it says it cannot process the file. Do they have a
sample image that can be opened with the basic microsoft software that
is installed on an IBM corporate PC?

Thank you. I tested that .bmp with the latest AFP driver, and the
colors are still wrong. That agrees with what the developer
indicated. Unfortunately, there is no estimated date on
when color support can be improved. Infoprint Designer's Image Editor
does create a page segment with more accurate colors.
